Dr. Rob McLaughlin is an experienced optometrist, trained and brought up in the UK. Rob has worked extensively in both private optometry practice and hospital settings. Until moving to Canada in 2011, he was Principal Optometrist at Cambridge Univerisity Hospital Trust UK, working alongside ophthalmologist colleagues in a variety of ophthalmology sub specialty clinics. He had the privilege of being an eye doctor for renowned scientist Stephen Hawking.
Rob’s academic achievements have resulted in numerous peer reviewed publications in both the fields of optometry and physics.
Outside of work, Rob loves Canada’s outdoor lifestyle and takes every opportunity to get outdoors enjoying canoeing on Alberta’s rivers, kayaking off the the coast of Vancouver Island and out hiking or skiing the mountains.
At Clarity Laser Vision Centre, you may meet Rob as part of your assessment for refractive surgery, or as part of your assessment and treatment of dry eyes.
